The XCOM remake will be released on March 6, 2012 as was revealed in an all-new E3 2011 trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter.
The game will be hitting Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and is a reboot of the classic Microprose series. In the new game players will take on the role of an FBI Agent who must identify and eliminate the unknown extraterrestrial threat that is invading the United States and wrecking havoc.
The new trailer showcases the aliens attacking and many moments of intense first-person shooting action, which is a huge turn-based strategy that the series was previously known for.
Some people have complained the graphics are under par, but the game is still quite a ways off so developer 2K Marin has quite some time to tweak things and spruce up the graphics. I’d expect it to look significantly improved by the time March of 2012 roles around. If we still exist by then.
