Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Zone of the Enders HD Collection announced for PS3 and Xbox 360

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection includes MGS2, MGS3 and MGS: Peace Walker for PS3 and Xbox 360
A Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection have been officially announced for both PS3 AND Xbox 360! They will be released this holiday.

The two titles were revealed in a string of “HD Collections” that have been newly announced at Konami’s pre-E3 2011 press conference.

The games will include high-definition 1080p HD graphics with completely redrawn art assets, and Achievements or Trophies to unlock for each version (respectively). Sadly though, the Metal Gear Solid collection will not include the first MGS game… Instead, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (originally for PSP) will be included on the collection.

This marks the first time that Metal Gear Solid’s 2, 3 and Peace Walker will be hitting Xbox 360. And likewise, the Zone of the Enders HD Collection (which includes Zone of the Enders 1 and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, both originally PS2 titles) will mark the first time that series has been seen on a non-Sony platform.

Additionally, Sony users who pick up the MGS HD Collection on the PS3 will be able to take advantage of a new system dubbed “Transfarring” by Hideo Kojima, a connectivity feature that allows you to transfer your saved game from the PS3 to the PSP and continue playing from exactly where you left off on-the-go! You can then transfer back to the PS3 when you get home and pick up where you left off at the airport. Snazzy!
