Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has been officially announced by Polish developer City Interactive for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Due for release in 2012, the game will make use of Crytek’s CryEngine 3 technology engine (the same one that powers the incredibly visually impressive Crysis 2) and will be fully unveiled at E3 2011 which begins next week.

No video of the game yet but you can see what it looks like in action with the first gameplay picture from the title above, which shows off very detailed mountains and what appears to be a Tibetan Shrine.

The original Sniper: Ghost Warrior 1 was released last year for PC and Xbox 360 and did surprisingly well. Well enough to earn a sequel. An enhanced Sniper: Ghost Warrior PS3 version will be released on June 28th and is set to include two new Rifle weapons (the L96 and the M200 Intervention), a Hard Core difficulty level, new multiplayer maps, a new Capture the Flag mutliplayer mode, a new single-player mission and enhanced graphics.

Here is a video for the second Sniper game.
