The first debut video for StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm has been revealed and hopes to get your heart pumped for this upcoming second part of the planned trilogy.

The first part, of course, was last year’s StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty. Heart of the Swarm will have a single-player campaign from the perspective of the alien/insect-like Zerg, while the final part: Legacy of the Void, will follow the mentally and psionically advanced Protoss.

The new trailer takes place directly following the storyline from Wings of Liberty. Like in StarCraft 2, in Heart of the Swarm you’ll be able to evolve your units via the Evolution Chamber for subsequent missions and Blizzard is promising new units will make their debut with the return of old favorites. You collect mutagen that you can use to evolve your units.

Kerrigan will be a fully playable unit in all (or most) of the single-player missions, and the unit upgrades can really change how the game is played with some crazy abilities (such as zerg that train instantly or zerg that spawn two broodlings upon death). And you can evolve a unit into one of two final forms for even more powerful bonuses.

Like in Wings of Liberty, missions will be very distinctive and unique for this upcoming sequel. Sadly you don’t get to see any of it in the trailer below, but you do get some cool CG!
