Darksiders 2 has been announced for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC with Death starring as the main character this time around! Replacing War. It will be released in 2012.
In an interesting twist, the game will take place at the same time as the original Darksiders, but you will be playing from the perspective of another of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, Death.
The game promises a dramatically larger game world than the original game, a full upgrade system for weapons and armor, and dungeons that are much larger in scope and tougher to boot!
“This epic journey propels Death through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother War, the horseman who was blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders,” THQ said of the game’s story.
“We have taken the best parts of Darksiders and improved on them with a host of new mechanics and features. You will see great things from this epic game,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President of Core Games.
The game will be fully unveiled at E3 2011 and in the July issue of Game Informer which has the game as its coverstory.
