What were the best-selling games in America, Japan, and Europe the past week? Thanks to Amazon online sales data here are the games that are the hottest. Think of it as a games weather report.

What follows is a listing of the Top 10 bestsellers per region, for all systems combined.

North America’s Top 10 Games:

1. Mortal Kombat (PS3)
2. L.A. Noire (PS3)
3. L.A. Noire (Xbox 360)
4. Just Dance 2 (Wii)
5. Portal 2 (Xbox 360)
6. Zumba Fitness (Wii)
7. Mortal Kombat (Xbox 360)
8. Portal 2 (PS3)
9. Portal 2 (PC, Mac)
10. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Xbox 360)

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment did right by giving the Mortal Kombat team a new home (calling them NetherRealm Studios) and by putting out a game that pleases fans of the fighting game series.

Japan’s Top 10 Games:

OMG why do I think this looks so awesome!? I’m not the only one who finds “Battle & Get! Pokemon Typing DS” strangely appealing — while obviously aimed at kids learning how to type — it’s debut skyrocketed it to #1 in the Japanese sales charts! Eat your heart out Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Typing might make a run for your fan favorite status.

505 Games finally imported the Zumba Fitness craze to European Wii’s after a tremendous success in America months earlier. While casual fitness games are still on a tour the force, it’s nevertheless amazing to see it outsell all popular new releases.
