Legacy of Kain reboot imminent?

Is a Legacy of Kain remake or reboot of the classic action adventure series in consideration by Eidos owner Square Enix?

After already rebooting the Dues Ex series with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a game that looks like it will be a smash hit, why not try out for the horror action of the Blood Omen/Legacy of Kain games next? After all, gamers haven’t seen a new entry since last generation’s Legacy of Kain: Defiance, released in 2003 for Xbox1, PC and PS2.

Following the fact that Kain and Raziel appeared as playable characters in the downloadable Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, reports have surfaced that a paid online survey is making the rounds which asks participants to choose which of the four following names would make a good subtitle for a possible new game in the Legacy of Kain series.

The subtitles include:

Obsidian Blood

Obsidian Sun

Dead Sun

Revenant

The participants were then asked whether the speculative reboot should pair one of the above subtitles as suffixes to “Legacy of Kain”, “Blood Omen” or “Soul Reaver” or whether one of the above subtitles would work as the entire new title themselves.

With E3 2011 just around the corner it will be interesting to see if Square Enix will take a stab at rebooting the long-dormant franchise, after all it has been eight years since the release of Defiance.

I would love nothing more than to see Kain come back. I would love it if they made Blood Omen 3. I can’t think of any other characture from and other video game franchise that was 10% as badass as Kain. I really hope they make another LoK game.

Ok I am all for legacy of Kain being on xbox 360 but it has to be on PS3 that is were it started and it was a game that was action packed and fill with obstacle that challenged you mind as well as you gaming techniques the fact that there hasn’t been a remake or at least a continuation is almost criminal. I my self have beaten all the LOK series and would happily put in countless at defeating it all over again if it were completely remade. But as it is we can only hope.

sori m8 but you are wrong about kain and raziel being guests at that tomb raider game i imagine u refering to those you tube videos.. its just a good edit from defiance models and voise overs..and thats all..anyway i hope they will do something that game is a part of my life and as i can see there are many fans like me hoping for anew relese juging from some fanmade games i saw and they where very good and even from that edid id say that the fans screaming for more of lok…

Same story, better graphics and better fighting skills, more of a free roaming experience ala AC,RDR,Skyrim. I would REALLY love to get this series upgraded.

upraded into sandbox style(been nearly overdone lately imo)? personally i think legacy of kain’s next release should be done in a darksiders style of gameplay. above all focus on combat and scenery interaction should be of paid most attention to to keep the over all feel of the series

It would be great to have a new game even a remake with dlc. My son is named Kain I love that series so much. I would buy it I would love it on xbox 360 too. Lol no doubt it would be a best seller.
