Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection has finally been announced for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC. This collection will include arcade perfect versions of Mortal Kombat 1, Mortal Kombat 2Mortal and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for digital download on XBLA & PSN this Summer for $10/800 Microsoft Points! Hell yeah!
You may recall that this Mortal Kombat Arcade Compilation collection originally appeared as a retail listing for various stores online in the UK, but the game was never confirmed and seemed to disappear into the ether with nary a sign from Warner Bros. who owns the rights to MK or NetherRealm Studios who developed Mortal Kombat 2011 (with co-creator Ed Boon at the helm).

Developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm studios, the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will offer fans the chance to play through the games in their original arcade state and rediscover all their favorite characters, fatalities and environments as well as relive some of the franchise’s most memorable secrets. “Original arcade state” means the games have not been touched up with high-definition visuals. But considering I love me some N64 Mortal Kombat Trilogy and most people have been forced to play these games on older systems, I hardly see that as a problem.
In addition, this new collection will feature online play, leaderboards, Achievements and Trophies all for the equivalent of only 40 quarters!
