Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been announced as the official title of the next game in the best-selling franchise from Infinity Ward and Activision.

As previously revealed, the game will be released on November 8, 2011 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC (at least) and will deliver an experience that “engulfs a dozen cities around the world” including bringing the franchise to America, as part of the game will take place in New York. Other cities include London and Paris.

Sources have reportedly also confirmed to Kotaku (who also has several spoiler-filled rumors from inside sources) that this third installment will tie up nearly all loose ends from the last game and feature deep online and offline gameplay and modes, as you’d expect. It will also clarify “the final moments of key figures in the series’ history.”

Here is the 1st of 4 official teaser trailers: The America Under Siege teaser.
