Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, a possible upcoming sequel, has been officially leaked ahead of a full announcement or reveal from Ubisoft.

The game was first noticed when a link to a cryptic picture hinting at the new game (along with an Activity Monitor) appeared on the official Facebook. People were able to get some snapshots before it was taken down.

The Facebook teaser included the reveal of what looked to be an ancient castle, as well as a hidden blade for what one would assume was Altair, and the phrase “Altair, son of no one” in Arabic (other translations say “Altair, the first Assassin”.

You can also see a bright light in the shape of the country of Greece, as well as an Phaistos Disc. This could be hinting that the next game will take place in Ancient Greece or Create between 2000-1000 BC, which would be a very interesting time period for the series.

Reportedly the full game, whose platforms are still unknown, will get the full reveal in an upcoming issue of Game Informer, and it is reportedly being developed by Ubisoft Montreal.

So what systems could this new game be for? It is really anyone’s guess, but it could possibly be the previously announced Nintendo 3DS entry, or an iOS or even possibly a Facebook game. If not, then it could be a full sequel or spin-off for Xbox 360, PS3, PC or even Wii 2. We will surely find out more at E3 2011.
