In celebration of Fatality Friday, I pose this question: What is your favorite MK game of all time?

With bloody satisfaction and brutal bloodlust pumping through everyone’s veins as they dig into their opponents with the just released Mortal Kombat 2011, and hot on the heels of my question posted earlier this week asking who your favorite Mortal Kombat character of all time was, I now pose the next most logical question.

Depending on how far back your gaming history goes, you’ll most likely have a completely different answer than those who only got into Mortal Kombat in the modern era. There are also several distinct schools of thought on the art of Mortal Kombat, and one thing is certain in the universe, those who love Mortal Kombat 2 will always want to brutally slay those who love Mortal Kombat 3. No compromise for these politicians!

But even more interesting than the core list of titles is the much smaller list of Mortal Kombat spin-offs (some people will not be denied their love of MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero). Given all this, it will be really interesting to see how our readers feel about the MK series in general and if you had to pick one, which title would be your ultimate favorite. Remember to include Mortal Kombat 2011 in the running if you’ve played it. And feel free to denote what VERSION is your favorite as well, be it SNES, Genesis, Arcade, N64, PS1, GameCube, PC or original Xbox, everyone has their preferences!

So once again, what Mortal Kombat game is your all time favorite?

My favorite Mortal Kombat game of all time is by FAR Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Nintendo 64 version. So epic, so many characters, extremely speedy gameplay with no loading (I much prefer it to the PS1 version, even though you don’t get to play as the mini-bosses like Goro and Kintaro). As far as I’m concerned, Trilogy is the “Ultimate” version of MK! I wish they’d re-release it already! >_< I could only imagine it in HD with online play!

Hands down, by far Mortal Kombat 2011 is my best, be4 that it was Mortal Kombat 4 and 3rd was Mortal Kombat Deception.

Josh!!! you’re the man…I will share a vision that I have with you. If the Mortal Kombat Franchise wants to revive and “immortalized this game forever they need to to incorporate 3 MK games into 1 solid-mind blowing version. Which one are they?? MK 1 (real person, life-like characters & backgrounds), MK Trilogy (the fighting speed, quick recovery & life-like characters & background) and MK 2011 (improved gaming technologies & HD advances) ….NOTE: I hate all MK games that look like drawn characters & backgrounds to include 2D/computerized-square liked. NOW TELL ME JOSH —>>> Can you imagine a NEW MK game that same all the good-stuff from part 1, 2 & 2011 <> ALL TOGETHER IN ONE GAME!!!!!!!!! I hope WARNER BROS. and BOON think about it — because they did NOT quick get it (what us, the gamers want back from Mortal Kombat).

That sounds like a pretty awesome idea to combine all of those features into one game. Although I think that NetherRealm did the series right with MK 2011.

That’s an interesting list you got there! I liked Mortal Kombat 4 a lot, I think it was under appreciated!
