Looking for codes, cheats, tips and secrets for Portal 2?

Thankfully for us, there is a whole list of cheats from the first game that will work with the new Valve sequel.

Portal 2 Cheat Codes List

Bring up the Cheats Console box by pressing the Tilde button (~) and then type in the required cheat for the desired effect, as listed below. For some of the cheats you will need to set the “sv_cheats” to 1. All of these cheats are from the first Portal but should work with Portal 2. If they don’t leave a comment below and we’ll remove it from the list. Or leave a comment if you see a cheat that is missing and we’ll add it to the list and give you credit!

1. Activate Ability To Put Portals Anywhere – Type: sv_portal_placement_never_fail # (1 or 0)
2. Activates Ability To Fly and Pass Through Walls – Type: noclip
3. Change Game Speed – Type: host_timescale # (default=1) [0.1 = 10% of original game speed, 2 = twice the original game speed, etc.]
4. Change Gravity Effects – Type: sv_gravity # (600=normal)
5. Change Link ID For Commanding Player’s Portal – Type: change_portalgun_linkage_id # (0, 1, 2, 3)
6. Energy Ball From Face (Bug) – Type: fire_energy_ball
7. First-Person Viewpoint – Type: firstperson
8. Give Yourself or Upgrade Your Portal Gun – Type: upgrade_portalgun
9. Give Yourself the Basic Portal Gun – Type: give weapon_portalgun (Upgrade by typing: upgrade_portalgun)
10. Invincibility – Type: god
11. Morph Storage Cube Into A Companion Cube (Must Target It First) – Type: ent_fire !picker skin 1
12. Rocket Fire From Face (Bug) - Type: fire_rocket_projectile
13. Rocket Turrets On or Off – Type: ent_fire npc_rocket_turret toggle
14. Shows the Frames Per Second Rate – Type: cl_showfps 1
15. Spawns A Rocket Turret – Type: npc_create_aimed npc_rocket_turret
16. Spawns A Weighted Storage Cube – Type: ent_create_portal_weight_box
17. Spawns Bounce-Able Metal Ball – Type: ent_create_portal_metal_sphere
18. Spawns Standing Turret – Type: npc_create npc_portal_turret_floor
19. Stops Turrets From Shooting – Type: notarget
20. Third-Person Viewpoint – Type: thirdperson
21. Turn Cheats On Or Off - Type: sv_cheats 1 (0=off/1=on)
22. Turn Gun Invisible – Type: buddha [Or impulse 200 (Still Able to Shoot)]
23. Unlocks Flashlight – Type: impulse 100
24. Unlock tons of options to choose from – Type: ent_create And you will get options to choose from. The list below that they give you when you type something in… For example type in: ent_create_portal_companion_cube

1. Bionic Beanie – Unlock by earning the “Lunacy” Achievement.
2. Companion Cube – Unlock by beating the Single Player Campaign.
3. Love Shirt – Unlock by earning the “Friends List with Benefits” Achievement.
4. Portal 2 Cooperative Shirt – Unlock by earning the “Professional Portal” Achievement.
5. Portal 2 Hat – Unlock by earning the “Wake Up Call” Achievement.
6. Turret Shirt – Unlock by earning the “No Hard Feelings” Achievement.
7. WCC Flag – Unlock by earning the “High Five” Achievement.
