Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime 3DS announced. New details and screenshots

Sail the seas in Dragon Quest Rocket Slime 3 for 3DS!
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime 3 for the Nintendo 3DS has been announced with first solid details on the game revealed via the Japanese “V Jump” magazine (sister publication to “Weekly Shounen Jump”).

The game’s Japanese title is “Slime More Mori Dragon Quest 3”, and marks the third entry in the critically acclaimed series of action adventure/RPG spin-offs that got its start on the Game Boy Advance. While the first game in the series for GBA never made it across the pond from Japan, its sequel was released in the West to high review scores and decent sales.

Obviously the sequel to that game is the first 3DS entry in the series. This time your adventure as a Slime will take you to the high seas, as you travel the world on your ship that can be customized with unique parts which you acrquire while on your travels. Naturally, the game wouldn’t be complete without sea-based battles with pirates that you come across on your journey.

Square Enix will be heavily promoting the game in its native Japan by teaming up with V Jump for an exclusive promotion that will see readers designing a pirate ship, with the winning ship appearing in the final game.

Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime 3 will be released in Japan this Winter, no word about it getting a Western release, but one would hope that Square Enix will localize it.
