The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS is real remake

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS will be a launch window title for the Nintendo 3DS releasing in June.

What has been unclear about the game was whether it was simply a port or whether it was an actual remake.

And now we have proof! Although it remains to be seen if any actual, new content will be created for the game outside of a new touchscreen interface/menu/equipping system (making the Water Temple much easier to manage mechanically), one thing is for sure….

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be a full remake with all-new graphics. This means all new added objects and details which completely update the game to make it much improved and better looking over the previous versions. That’s in addition to the stereoscopic glasses-free 3D graphics of course.

You can see the huge difference in the 3DS version screenshot above, by comparing it to this screenshot of the previous versions of the game below (N64, GameCube, Wii Virtual Console). And yes, we know that the 3DS screenshot is from the Kokariko Village store and the N64 image is from the Hyrule Castle Bazaar, but either way the difference between the two is truly striking.

Looks awesome to me! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how the rest of the game has changed, even if it is only graphically. Are you planning on picking up The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for 3DS?
