inFAMOUS 2 release date announced alongside Hero Edition

An InFamous 2 “Hero Edition” has been announced as the special edition version of the highly anticipated PS3-exclusive open-world sequel from developer Sucker Punch. The InFamous 2 release date is on June 7, 2011.

The Hero Edition comes at a steep price point of $100 and includes a bundle of extras.

The Hero Editions extras include:

  • Sling pack modeled after Cole’s.
  • 8.5 inch statue of Cole.
  • DC Comics mini-comic book.
  • “Super” downloadable voucher that includes the following in-game extras: Kessler Skin, 24K Gold Amp in-game weapon, “Electrocution Grenade Power”, “Lightning Hook Power”, and a digital download for the game’s soundtrack.

    • If you don’t want to spring the $99 bucks for the Hero Edition, you can also get some of the “Super Voucher” extras by pre-ordering the title. If you pre-order at Amazon you get the Gold Amp, if you pre-order at Best Buy you get the Kessler Skin, if you pre-order at Wal-Mart you get the Electrocution Grenade, and if you pre-order at GameStop you get the Lightning Hook. While all of the retailers will give you the soundtrack for pre-ordering as well. Huzzah!

    Overall not bad for a collector’s edition. Pretty steep price though.
