Mortal Kombat and MK: Annihilation films on Blu-Ray. Includes PS3 MK 2011 extra

Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation are coming to Bluray, and included in each copy is a special gift for the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat 2011 in the form of a download code for a Klassic Jade Costume.

So far this deal for the downloadable extra via the included voucher seems to be exclusive to PS3, no word on whether Xbox 360 gamers will be getting it later on as downloadable content.

Add this to the PS3 version’s cap of exclusive extras, which also includes Kratos from God of War as a playable character and stereoscopic 3D support.

As far as the films are concerned, the first film will contain an animated extra entitled “The Journey Begins”, but outside of that there are no new special features to speak of, which is a bummer. Personally, I’m actually a big fan of Annihilation. Even though it looked more like a made-for-TV film and was less theatrical, the fighting in that film is arguably better and I liked the person they cast as Sonya. Although she didn’t look the part as much as the Sonya from the first MK, she was a better fighter overall IMHO. I also liked seeing their take on all the MK3 characters.

Always good to see old favorites coming to Bluray, do you plan to pick these movies up?
