Spare Parts announced. Battletoads-vibe (XBLA, PSN)

Spare Parts has been announced as an upcoming Battletoads-style cooperative platformer for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
The game is being developed by EA Bright Light and published by Electronic Arts and looks like it’s their take on a kind of Ratchet & Clank game.
In this online action adventure, players join courageous robots Mar-T and Chip as they find themselves dumped with the trash on a strange planet. Working together in co-op mode, the mechanical duo must find a way to repair their ship and escape the planet before nefarious Lord Krung can dispatch his henchmen to destroy them.
Mar-T and Chip will need to collect upgradable action parts to unlock new abilities that will aid them as they battle countless enemies including the evil Krofax, hostile spider monkeys and even a Super Huge Mega Laser! Can our heroes rescue their other stranded robotic friends and unearth all of the spare parts they need to make their escape?
A key focus of the game is not only the co-op platforming gameplay, but also the way that the characters interact with each other through over-exaggerated and comical animations, as you can see in this debut trailer. The game will be released in early 2011.
Here is a video showing off gameplay footage of Spare Parts in action.
