Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will be getting free multiplatform downloadable content next month.

The new DLC is called “Animus Project Update 2.0,” and it will be priced at the best-price of FREE. That’s good because it matches the new DLC that is just available, the “Animus Project Update 1.0″ which you can download now for free as well. Yay for free!

In the 2.0 DLC from next month, you’ll be getting a new map along with an all-new game mode.

The new map is entitled “Pienza Map” and provides a “perfect free-running playground” with a twist on Capture the Flag called “Chest Capture” wherein two three-men teams must capture and defend their chests.

The Animus Project Update 2.0 will also include a “new Templar Score feature that will reward diligent work by Abstergo recruits.”

Here is the new trailer for the Animus Project Update 1.0 that you can download now.

Interesting, I really enjoyed the assassin games for my xbox, however I fell they’re getting old.

Why do you think they are getting old Nick?

Is it because Ubisoft plans to release a new game in the Assassin’s Creed series every year? I kind of like that, because they’ve already done all the hard engine work, so they just need to think up a good storyline and fun gameplay situations all year. While they all play simularly, still each one gets new strategies added, so it never got boring to me anyway.

While I didn’t really get into these multiplayer modes, it’s cool they are giving away free DLC expansions. I’m waiting for the story-based DLC expansions in 2011 though.

do you have a ps3 ferry, there is single player dlc on the ps3, unlucky if you have a xbox :P

Oh crap, you’re right Kris! I can’t download it, because I bought the Xbox 360 version of the game. I do have a PS3, but just not the game on it. I hope it’s a timed PS3-exclusive and it’ll come in a package to Xbox Live Marketplace later on.
