Bloodline Champions will enter Open Beta on December 15, 2010 by developer Stunlock Studio and publisher Funcom.

The game will be released in late 2010 or early 2011 but will have a unique payment scheme where it will be available in two different digital versions: although the game will be free-to-play.

Although you can play it and get access to everything without paying anything, an “entry-level” copy will be sold for $40 and come with 16 Bloodlines (classes) with an optional $10 upgrade that will give you an additional 4 Bloodlines.

However a Bloodline Champions: Ultimate version will also be available, priced at $90! This deluxe version will include a whopping 20 Bloodlines and a Lifetime VIP Membership along with a Lifetime Discount for the in-game store.

Here is an introduction trailer for the game.

If you haven’t heard of Bloodline Champions, the game is an arena-based 10 on 10 Player versus Player MMO with some similarities to DOTA (Defense of the Ancients). Although this game is completely different due to the fact that the game requires complete precision aiming with your mouse. Not only will a shot miss if you don’t align your mouse up just right, but you’ll also have to contend with the time it takes an attack to reach your target and charge up. This hook gives the game a completely unique feel that will help to really separate it from other DotA like games.
