The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be released on May 17, 2011 exclusively for PC.

This marks a delay of “a few weeks” to allow the game more time to be further polished to a shining action RPG perfection.

“We’ve decided to the move the launch date back a few weeks to afford us more time to polish the game,” he said.

Developer and publisher CD Projekt also announced that they will be streaming a live conference on the official Witcher 2 website on November 18th at 12:30 PM EST where they will reveal additional pre-order specifics.

The second installment in the RPG saga about the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, features a thoroughly engrossing, mature storyline defining new standards for thought-provoking, non-linear game narration. In addition to an epic story, the game features an original, brutal combat system that uniquely combines tactical elements with dynamic action.

A new, modern game engine, responsible both for beautiful visuals and sophisticated game mechanics puts players in this lively and believable world. A captivating story, dynamic combat system, beautiful graphics, and everything else that made the original Witcher such a great game are now executed in a much more advanced and sophisticated way.

The Witcher 2 looks so incredibly awesome. I didn’t play the original game but always wanted too. I should track it down, I’ve heard good things about it.

Josh you really do need to finally play the first one. It was fantastic. Just bare in mind that it is roughly 90 hrs of game play, co give yourself enough time to enjoy it to the fullest. I found the combat system difficult at first, but replaying the prologue took care of that. Also, pausing during combat is your friend.
