Kinect sells out at retailers everywhere in America

Kinect Xbox 360 Bundle
Kinect has only launched in North America a few days ago and already the new Xbox 360 motion-sensing device is sold out at retailers, both online and off, across the country.

The Kinect has seen incredible and sellout sales at retailers including GameStop, Target, Amazon, Best Buy and others, which indicates that the Kinect will undoubtedly see HUGE sales come the holidays.

“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of excitement and demand for [Kinect] and saw lines at our midnight openings around the country,” said Best Buy’s Chris Homeister to USA Today. “We are currently sold out online, but we continue to work with Microsoft to obtain product shipments now and throughout the holiday season.”

Online retailers including Target.com, Amazon.com and GameStop.com have sold out of either the Kinect bundle itself or that and the Xbox 360 system Kinect bundle. Although Kinects are still in stock at GameStop and Amazon’s online stores in the console bundle style, individual Kinect bundles are hard to come by and “there is going to be very high demand for these products,” according to Walmart’s Ravi Jarawala.

This follows hot on the heels of Microsoft raising their Kinect sales projections from 3 million to a whopping 5 million for this holiday season.

However it’s still to be seen whether or not the Kinect will be bale replicate the phenomon that was the Wii when that system came out. However both the PlayStation Move and the Kinect have apparently been very successful at their launches, so it’ll be interesting to see more concrete numbers later on.
