Silent Hill: Revelation 3D movie announced

Silent Hill movie 2 coming
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D has been announced as the second film in the movie franchise based off the hit survival horror videogame series by Konami.

Very few details on the upcoming film have been revealed, but it has been reported that the new movie will be directed and written by Michael J. Bassett who is also directing the upcoming “The Unblinking Eye” and has previously worked on Solomon Kane, Deathwatch and Wilderness.

Although he says he can’t commit on the rumor: “There’s a lot of buzz and speculation about Silent Hill online at the moment but as no official press release has been sent out yet, I’m afraid I can’t make any comments one way or another.”

The plot of the film will star Silent Hill 3’s Heather Mason as the lead character, and the storyline will involve her estranged father disappearing upon her 18th birthday, as dark secrets regarding her origins come to light.

It’s interesting that the film series is skipping the second game and going to the third, but then again I thought the first film was pretty close to Silent Hill 2 the game in many ways.

Here is the trailer for the first film.
