Amnesia: The Dark Descent walkthrough Part 11: Cell Area I & Prison – Northern Block

In order to get to the North Block of the Prison you will need to go through a hole in one of the cells. But the hole is currently too narrow to fit through so you need to find 2 tools to make it bigger. The hammer and chipper combined will allow you to make the hole bigger, these are located in two separate cells one. Though I cannot describe where, they are shown where in the video.

Once you made it to the North Block of the Prison, you will need 2 more items to get through a door that has a padlock in good shape. Head in the left direction first after you get out of the hole in order to go and collect the glass jar that you will use to hold the acid in to weaken the padlock.

Be careful as there are a few enemies in the area; just keep an eye out for them. The game also slightly warns you ahead of time too which you may know by now already. Hide or run from them.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent walkthrough Part 12: Prison – Northern Block, Cistern & Control Room

“Moving that orb was like pushing a star in the night sky. It wasn’t supposed to happen. The Shadow isn’t some vengeful spirit, it is the universe catching up with itself.”

By now you already have the glass jar and just entered the room with the acid. But before you grab the acid, you need to hide from the enemy that is just about to enter the room. Once he leaves, grab the acid with the glass jar and head back to the other side of the prison again. This is near the area where you found the glass jar, except you will not be going down that particular hallway to the door you need to get through. Instead head the other path that is there. Once you have found the door leading to the Cistern, use the acid on it and then the hammer.

The water is too deep to traverse safely. To enter the Sewer, it must first be drained. Go to the lever that is stuck, use a glas jar of oil from your inventory to grease its gears. So in this next area you need to use the jar and fill it with oil to get the ladder down. Next pull the lever three times to free up and lower the ladder, that up until then was blocked by a broken pipe. Your memories will guide you to where you can finally redirect the sewer water.

Head up the ladder and head to the western doorway after you bring down the bridge. Then turn all of the valves in this part of the Cistern in order to redirect the sewer water flow. Afterwards, head back to the Control Room to fix the bridge that leads to the Morgue.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent walkthrough Part 13: Control Room & Morgue

In order to fix the bridge to access the Morgue you need to head to the Control Room first. The puzzle in the Control Room is actually quite easy to fix the bridge. There are a total of 5 rooms located in the Control Room, 2 on each side (West and East) and then 1 all the way at the end. You will need to make the 2 rooms on the left, the exact same as they are on the opposite West side which is the side with the working bridge. While you are moving through the first two rooms, there are 2 pipes you will need to pick up and bring along the way to the 5th room. There is also 1 more pipe you will need to grab in the 2nd room to the West to bring to the final room. Once you are in the final room, hook these 3 pipes up to the left (East) wall and have them copy the other side.

Note: There are valves in the Cistern to redirect water from the Sewer.

You can now head to the Morgue via the fixed bridge. But there is one more final thing you have to do; you will need to use the Eastern Bridge to further knock down the Western bridge to the Morgue.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent walkthrough Part 14: Morgue & Sewer

Let’s play around with the new corpse in the morgue. That’s not creepy at all. 😛

Head straight instead of going to the right hallway as you enter the Morgue so you can grab a thin copper tube to put inside of the body on the table. You will first need to use the drill to make a hole and then use the surgical needle to push it into the dead bodies head.

When you are on your way towards the door, an enemy will start coming into the room, so head to one of the two rooms immediately. I run into the room opposite of the table with the body, I am not sure if the enemy at all enters the other room. It is up to you which you choose to go into.

As you enter the sewer and climb down the ladder, ahead of you will be machine blocking a room. You will need to first slow down this room by moving levers in a room towards the right side of the sewer to the left and right. Afterwards, go to the opposite side (right side) of the sewer to grab a pipe that is slightly broken from the wall. You will use this pipe to fully stop the machine blocking the path. Make sure to keep an eye out for enemies in this area as well.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent walkthrough Part 15: Sewer & Nave

To get out of the sewer, you will need to distract the enemy watching the exit. There are some rocks nearby in the water as well as some body parts from the room earlier that you can use to distract the enemy. When you are moving through the water, make sure to crouch and move slowly so that the enemy does not hear you. The enemy will start chasing you though as you enter the end of the hallway so quickly move through the doors and climb up the ladder. There are a lot of tasks ahead of you to complete, you are starting to reach the end of the game too.

Tip: Distract the enemies from your location with the old “throwing a rock the other way to escape” routine.

Up next is a difficult part where a lot of people get stuck. It’s all about the “Ceiling trapdoor” at Agrippa’s left.

The next task is to get the 2 levers working again so that you can open the doors that are closed. These are the 2 doors/gates near Agrippa. You will need to fix the gears/cogs in the small wooden door that is above the table to the left of Agrippa. I show this being done in Part 16 of this walkthrough.
