Brad Pitt as John Marston?
A Red Dead Redemption movie starring Brad Pitt?

That could be the case. According to reports, Brad Pitt has been given the first rights of refusal to play the starring role as John Marston in a Red Dead Redemption movie.

Although this, of course, means that he also has the right to refuse the role. But he will be the one to star in it before any other actor.

To quote:

“This is an exciting project with a great character at the center of it,” a source said. “The idea is to make this in the style of an epic Western movie but with a few modern touches. Brad is perfect for the role and he is being given first refusal.”

Here is what Brad Pitt looks like as a cowboy in the Western Drama “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.”

Well there goes any desire I might have had to watch a Red Dead Redemption movie. Am I the only person that sinmply can’t stand the man?

For me it’s his politics that make me dislike the man more than anything else being a conservative. But no, I actually DO like him as an actor. I think he did a great job in Troy, for example.

It will be interesting if he does take the part, to see if that elevates this videogame movie above others. Then again Angelina Jolie didn’t necessarily do that for Tomb Raider. Although Brad has more clout I think . . . I guess we’ll find out.

Honestly, I don’t think I’d be able to stand this movie if Brad Pitt were in it. I’m sick of them bringing in big actors for movies based on games. Make it like Harry Potter (that statement made me cringe) and bring in relative unknowns.
