Resident Evil 5 will be getting its Move Edition support on September 19th via an in-game update that will patch the existing survival horror hit so it works with Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Move motion-control system. This title update will be free to anyone who wants to add Move support to their game.

This will make Resident Evil 5 play similarly to Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition although the Move system is much more accurate, precise and easy to use than the system employed in the RE4 Wii Edition, and will certainly breath some new life into the PS3 version of RE5.

When playing with the Move, you can control your character using the Analog Stick on either the Navigation Controller or by using the stick on a Dualshock. The Trigger on the Move draws your weapon and to aim you simply point at the screen and press the Move button to shoot! The Move Button is also the general action button. The controls actually mimic those of RE4: Wii Edition, you even shake the Wiimo…. er Move Controller to reload or swing your knife.

I do think it is very cool that Capcom is updating a game like RE5 to work with the Move, even though it’s a previously released game. Although I don’t think it is something that will make people go out and buy a Move, it definitely gives you reason to replay RE5 if you already own the game and plan on getting Move or already have it.

Here is a video of the game in action using Move.
