Mortal Kombat: Fire & Ice revealed as canceled co-op game

Mortal Kombat Fire and Ice Scorpion and Sub-Zero co-op game canceled
Mortal Kombat: Fire and Ice’s release never was. The game is a canceled Mortal Kombat co-op action adventure game that was in development after the release of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.

The game would’ve been developed by the same team (Paradox) and would’ve not only seen MK enemy rivals Scorpion and Sub-Zero teaming up for co-op gameplay, but it also would’ve built on the extremely successful engine that Paradox had created with the acclaimed Shaolin Monks. Sadly the game was canceled due to time and budget constraints.

“When they finished [Shaolin Monks], the guys at Paradox were gonna do another one called Fire & Ice. It was gonna be a co-operative Scorpion and Sub-Zero game,” Ed Boon said in speaking to Game Informer. “They actually started the early stages of that game, but they couldn’t do it in time and under budget, so the project was canceled and kind of went away.”

Hopefully this idea will get revisited. Sounds like fun!
