In this Doctor Who: Blood of the Cybermen walkthrough, you’ll be guided through the beginning and ending moments of cutscenes and gameplay for this second of four free downloadable episodes in the “Doctor Who: The Adventure Games” series from BBC Online, based on the sci-fi TV series Doctor Who.

This guide will cover the 2nd complete PC & Mac singleplayer, third-person perspective, adventure game with stealth elements.

  • As you may know, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan have been digitally recreated in-game, and have provided full voice-overs. Music has been provided by TV series’ composer Murray Gold. An additional cast will portray original characters and classic enemies. Stories and scripts are from Phil Ford (co-writer Doctor Who ‘Waters of Mars’) and James Moran (Severance, Torchwood Children of Earth). Because of all the TV show’s talent working on the game, the show’s creators consider the 2010 season of the Eleventh Doctor to contain not just the 13 episodes of Doctor Who that aired, but in fact stated that there are 17, four of which are interactive. Everything you see and experience within the game is part of the Doctor Who universe!

    Doctor Who: Blood of the Cybermen Walkthrough Act 1: The Artic Circle

    The Doctor and Amy materialize in the Arctic — where members of a survey team are turning from flesh to metal and digging something sinister from under the ice that’s been waiting thousands of years — an army of Cybermen! This is your chance to be The Doctor.
    So Doctor Who fans, are you ready for another challenge?


    Doctor Who: Blood of the Cybermen Walkthrough Act 2: The Cybermats & Cyberslaves

    That poor fella Chisholm gets stung by a Cybermat. Cybermats are advance guards used to transform humans into Cyberslaves. One of which they’ll have to take out if they want to get into the Arctic GSO base, where the Cybermen are planning their revival.
    It’s cold out, so why not let Amy “steam” things up a little for the Doctor-chasing Cyberslave? That’s right you must open up the steam vent as it walks past to kill it.

    Doctor Who: Blood of the Cybermen Walkthrough Act 3: The Cure

    The professor’s daughters birthday (as seen on her laptop) is the access code you need to proceed past the locked door. The password code is: 0505.
    After meeting Professor Elizabeth Meadows, The Doctor and Amy must now catch a Cybermat, to help create a cure against its infection.
    I’m sure you’ll agree Amy should leave yet another “electrifying” impression on a Cyberslave. That’s to say you should pull the loose electric wire hanging from the ceiling down — while avoiding the Cyberslave who only goes round in circles — after which you must time the turning on of the electricity (by pressing on, on the wall-outlet) just as the Cyberslave walks past the electric wire.

    To get the capacitor spare radio part — to radio the others and prevent them from coming — go outside and talk to Chisholm and he’ll tell you he’s got it in his locker inside the GSO lockers room. To open it up, use password code: 3245.
    While Amy quarantines the station from outsiders by radio-ing out, The Doctor finds Professor Meadows is missing, so he gets to work on synthesizing a nano serum. After applying it to the now half-Cyberman Chisholm to help cure him, he gives us access to the dig site.

    Doctor Who: Blood of the Cybermen Walkthrough Act 4: The Cybermen

    Let’s make our way past the Cyberslaves through a series of tunnels, to the Cybership’s dig site. After Amy gets captured by the Cyberslaves, he must make his way to the ship’s control room using the lifts. Good thing he always has that handy Sonic Screwdriver on him.

    The Doctor has to choose between saving Amy and awakening the Cybermen or doing nothing and seeing Amy become the first of a new line of Cybermen. After the Cyberlord is revived, he wants to “delete” all in-superior lifeforms including the Cyberslaves! Stealthily sneak your way into the Cyber-conversion area where Amy is being held. After freeing her and aligning the mirrors to blast a way out of that room, next The Doctor will need to get back to the Cybercommand control room to put the Cybermen back into stasis.

    It’s time to send the Cybermen back into cryo-sleep! Once that’s done The Doctor sets the GSO base to blow in half an hour, which… naturally… gives you 60 seconds to escape before everything explodes!

    Oh boy, an open ending. I wonder how long into 2010 it will be before episode 3 comes out.
