Mario Kart Wii sells 22 million, New Super Mario Bros. Wii 14 million artwork
At Nintendo’s E3 2010 Press Conference they revealed some big numbers for their phenomenal Wii sellers, Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which have exceeded everyone’s expectations as far as the sheer amount of copies sold is concerned.

Nintendo announced that Mario Kart Wii has sold over 22 million copies! Although the game really needs no introduction, here is one regardless.

“Mario and friends once again jump into the seat of their go-kart machines for the first Wii installment of this popular franchise. New features this year are an online racing mode, new motorbike vehicle types, a special balancing system for new and veteran players, and (in its initial release) a special Mario Kart wheel packaged with the game.”

Here is a cute video review of the game featuring both a kid and and adult talking about it.

Meanwhile, New Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold over 14 million copies! Previously we had reported that New Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold 10 million copies and that was only in January, so within 5 months it has sold 4 million copies! INSANITY.

“This New Super Mario Bros. is a throwback to the style of the original Super Mario Bros. and allows four players to play the game together. Players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds alone as before or invite up to three others to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. With the multiplayer mode, the newest installment of the most popular video game franchise is designed to bring yet another type of family entertainment into living rooms and engage groups of friends in fast-paced Super Mario Bros. fun. ”

The fact of the matter is that if you own a Wii, you almost assuredly own both of these games. They are such phenomenal sellers that they have easily eclipsed nearly everything on competing platforms like the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in terms of units bought. And proven once again that Nintendo’s work is nearly untouchable, both critically and commercially.

Here is a video review of New Super Mario Bros. Wii from the same guy as above. Now with BOTH HIS KIDS.

Thanks to wiiviewr for the video reviews.
