Battle Tag game announced by Ubisoft. Brings laser tag to your home, even works off-screen

Battle Tag was announced at Ubisoft’s E3 2010 Press Conference to much surprise and utter bewilderment.

Part of Ubisoft’s new mantra of “Games You Can Feel”, Battle Tag is not really a videogame. Instead it is an instrument to a game of Laser Tag.

The game ships with two laser guns, four “ammo packs”, a sync connector and two harness vests. By hooking it up to a game system or computer, it will track rules (which can be changed), points, stats, match perimeters and the like.

Once set up, you can literally play the game around your house or wherever. You can even play different games with the ammo packs. One game that was demonstrated had the players running back and forth between them, then shooting at the sensor. So it looks like the game will provide all kinds of different ways to have real-world fun.

It will be released this Fall, although exact platforms weren’t announced.
