Kinect is the name of NATAL, Microsoft has officially confirmed at the official “Experience NATAL” event in Los Angeles ahead of their Pre-E3 2010 press conference tomorrow. It will be coming to stores in November 2010.
New games were also revealed for the upcoming motion-sensing camera device, and most of them lamely have the name “Kinect” as a prefix to the game’s title.
The new Kinect games include:
1. Kinectimals (an animal collecting game, what else?),
2. Kinect Sports (Microsoft’s obvious answer to Wii Sports as developed by Rare),
3. Kinect Adventures (a river-rafting game) and several others including a Joyride racing game,
4. A Star Wars game,
5. A Disney game starring Tinkerbell,
6. A music rhythm game called Dance Central (created in collaboration with MTV Games).
Here’s the first “lifestyle” trailer showing Kinect in action:
So how do you like the new name? I was kind of hoping they’d keep the “Natal” code-name, but Kinect actually isn’t bad in my humble opinion.
