Unlockable Characters: How to get Ayuta and Mana, Olgar and Vhati
Follow these steps to unlock additional characters. First you must beat the game and have conquered the End Boss. Save after the credits roll. Once that is done, don’t start a new game. Instead, load your old save again. Now there will be a new map! When this opens, go through and defeat the same boss again. Now save your game at the end of the credits. When you turn the game on again and are back on the Character Select Screen, you should see arrows at the bottom of the screen. This allows you to switch to the new characters: Ayuta and Mana, Olgar and Vhati.
How to Unlock New Game Plus (New Game+)
Simply beat the game with any character. When you start a new game, you will be able to select New Game+ which carries over all your stats, items and money from your last playthrough. This is also how you unlock the new endings.
How to Get the Final Ending
In order to get the Final Ending, you will need to beat the last boss with all four Couples. Save your data after the credits rolls each time. Now on the Character Select Screen you’ll see “Final” instead of “Load”. Play through this for the best ending.
How to Fight All the Bosses Again
Once you have beaten the last boss and saved your game. Load it back up and there will be a Black Crystal where the bosses were before. This allows you to re-fight them!
How to Find a New Title Screen
To get a new Title Screen for Chaos Rings, you’ll need to beat Piu Piu with all characters. Once that is done, you’ll see the new Title Screen.
How to Get All Three Endings
Beat the game with the original Couples and go through the “Original Door” to see the first ending. Now save your data after the credits roll. For Ending #2, load your data from beating it last time. Now beat the “Beresith Road” stage. This will unlock the new characters (Olgar/Vahti & Ayuta/”Mana” as described above) who are selectable with the arrow on the Character Select Screen. Read “Final Ending” above on how to get Ending #3.
Will Chaos Rings run on an iPhone 3G or lower?
Square Enix did an amazing job making Chaos Rings run well on virtually everything. It should run fine on a 3G with little or no slowdown and even well on a iPod Touch 2G.
What order should I play the game in/which characters should I play first?
The two best orders are probably these two: Escher > Eluca > Ayuta > Olgar or Escher > Eluca > Ayuta > Olgar. Escher and Olgar have the best scenario stories and are the most interesting. However Ayuta has a few things that give away parts of Olgar’s story. But the two in the middle are weaker stories and may find you getting disinterested.
Can you turn off random battles?
Yes you can, although it’s not an “Option” per se. It’s a skill, and one of your Animal DNA’s will get the “Encounter” skill. Like in other Square RPGs like Final Fantasy VIII, this will allow you to turn random enemy encounters off. Just remember that you won’t grow stronger if you don’t fight.
How do I get passed the boulder on the first level?
To get passed this boulder, walk around to the other side and go up the hill a bit. You should encounter another boulder. You can push this boulder off the cliff. This will cause it to fall down and smash apart the other boulder blocking your path.
What does “Blowout!” mean in Battle and how do I get it?
“Blowout!” is simply an Instant Kill or “Critical Hit” that sometimes will occur when you hit an enemy with their weakness, usually an opposing element.

It looks like this Skill may actually be bugged. It seems to not work properly for a lot of people.
How do you beat Eluca and Zhamo?
If you can’t beat these guys, you probably need to spend more time leveling up so that you become stronger. Another strategy is to fight each one of them separately and without fighting as a couple yourself (no pair commands). This will help you control the damage you sustain better.
