Clash of the Titans: The Video Game will be released on July 27, 2010 from Namco Bandai and Independent Japanese developer Game Republic (Dragon Ball: Origins [DS], Genji: Days of the Blade [PS3], Folklore [PS3], Catan [PSN]) for Xbox 360 and PS3.

The game was originally scheduled for release in time to coincide with the release of the film in theaters on March 26th alongside the films original release date. The film was delayed however to convert it into 3D; eventually releasing on April 2, 2010 . . . This must have caused a delay with the game as well because it will now come nearly three months after the film’s release, with the game scheduled for July 27th as mentioned above. But hopefully the extra time in development has paid off in a much more polished, better overall package.

Clash of the Titans: The Video Game looks to be a Ninja Gaiden/God of War-style action adventure game, with plenty of awesome looking battles against bad-ass giant mythological creatures as seen in the film. The story will follow that of the movie, although it will also explore further parts of the universe not seen in either the new film or the 1981 original. Personally I think the game looks like a lot of fun.

Those who pre-order Clash of the Titans from GameStop will score you two exclusive bonuses. The “Bird in Hand” Quest Pack contains a bonus side-quest to defeat the Cockatrice monster. Doing so earns you a new sub-weapon known as the “Wing of Icarus”. The “Song of Enchantment” Quest Pack allows you to fight against a Succubus and Siren. Defeating them will earn you the exclusive Orpheus sub-weapon.

Here is a Japanese trailer for the game.
