Resident Evil for GameCube was a complete re-imaging of the original PS1 “Resident Evil ’96” title that started it all. The game was a remake in every since of the word with a completely new graphics engine and spell-bindingly realistic visuals unlike anything gamers had seen before. Everything was enhanced, including mood, atmosphere, music, voice-acting and script, with all-new mansion rooms and lots of extras. All these changes truly brought the horror classic into the modern age and proved how graphically powerful GameCube really was. In many ways RE Remake has yet to be matched.
The game was a major hit selling over a million copies on GameCube, and has now been re-released for the Wii as part of the “Resident Evil Archives” line (which also includes Resident Evil 0).
In the game you can play as either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, and there are multiple pathways through the game with new or different scenes depending on the choices you make. One of the hardest additional modes in Resident Evil GameCube is the “Real Survivor” mode. This mode does the “unthinkable” by making the Item Boxes in the game NOT linked to each other . . . Generally in Resident Evil, you need to store additional items in an Item Box, and said items magically appear in whatever Item Box you choose to check. But NOT SO in Real Survivor! As you can imagine, the unlinkage makes this one of the hardest Resident Evil modes ever made. I haven’t even attempted it myself . . . but this guy did! Here is a walkthrough for the Real Survivor mode. Note that it is in Spanish but the game itself is the same so it should be of help still.
