Nothing is as it seems in this action adventure game, set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures. Players assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, Nier, resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl virus. With powerful allies and a mysterious book, Nier encounters things that will confound even the mightiest of warriors.
Created by Cavia and Square Enix, Nier blends both innovative and traditional RPG gameplay mechanics with an intense, bloody combat system to create an action-packed single-player experience where players explore and discover a future lost to a shadowy past. Armed with a powerful set of magical abilities as well as mighty swords and armor, players will do battle alongside a set of formidable allies against waves of dark enemies and giant bosses to discover the truth about the disease, his daughter … and himself.

This is the opening from the new Square Enix RPG Nier. This is the intro before you install the game and the opening cinematic.
Nier Prologue part 1
The settings are on hard, and you can see that I got the Combo Fanatic (Bronze) trophy during this part. The combat seems pretty straight forward, though I was just pushing the basic attack and rolling out of the way to dodge attacks and to get to other enemies for a higher combo bonus.
Nier Prologue part 2
Here you can see a bit more combat, and the Combo Master (Silver) trophy earned as well for 100 hits.

Nier Walkthrough part 1
This first part of many starts off by exploring the area looking for goodies. I like how when you are near Devona the music starts to have lyrics added to it, since she is singing along to the music she is playing. As I peruse around the town, you notice there are a few shops, and item shop, a seed shop, and misc item shop, and a weapon shop.
Nier Walkthrough part 2
The Great Sheep Hunt. They are fast and will kick you where it hurts the most. Went back to town to finish the job and move onto the next day.
Nier Walkthrough part 3
Let’s fight some Shades. Then go back to town to trade in my spoils and continue on with the job, only to find that when I head home to see daughter dearest, that she’s missing. Wonderful… well at least the story is picking up instead of doing random jobs the entire game.
