Our Metroid 1 walkthrough will guide you through this NES classic by creator Gunpei Yokoi.

You can get the game easiest by downloading it via the Wii Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points ($5). It’s also playable in Metroid Prime by linking to Metroid Fusion via a GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable, it’s available on the Game Boy Advance as part of the “NES Classics” line and it’s unlockable in Metroid: Zero Mission.

If you haven’t played this Nintendo Entertainment System classic you owe it to yourself to experience this 8-bit masterpiece that revolutionized gaming with it’s non-linear world, innovative free-form power-up system and punishing gameplay that included absolutely no hand-holding whatsoever.

If you’re looking for an easier version of this classic that is still awesome, then you should definitely check out Metroid: Zero Mission for Game Boy Advance, which remade the game and updated it significantly with revamped graphics, additional power-ups, a new ending scenario and much more.
