Dragon Quest Victory for Wii has been announced by Square Enix as the home release of a Japanese Dragon Quest arcade game known as “Dragon Quest Monsters: Battle Road 2”. It will be released in the Land of the Rising Sun this Summer 2010 and has yet to be announced for Western release.
This is the first time that the game is coming to a home console from the arcades, and will be the second Dragon Quest game for the Wii following “Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors“.
The Wii version features card-based battles for up to four players via local split-screen or online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The game will also include a “Tournament Mode”, in which players can face off against a succession of computer players in a virtual town, collecting addition cards to add to their growing library all the while.
But one of the most unique features of the Wii version is connectivity between the Wii and Arcade versions using a DSi!
Those players who own a DSi system and the Wii version of the game, can download a special DSiWare App that allows them to scan in the cards from the Arcade game to their DSi system! They can then transport these Arcade-exclusive cards from the DSi to their home Wii system! Very cool.
