Darkstalkers 4 is Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono’s dream project

Darkstalkers 4 is what Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono really hopes to work on next after they finish up Super Street Fighter IV, he revealed in a new interview with Kotaku. Where he talks about his wish for creating a 4th Darkstalkers and how it would be his dream project.

The Darkstalkers series has always had a niche following but has never been super successful (to my knowledge anyway) outside of that niche. But if you ask me, now may be the time. Since Capcom was able to release Tatsunoko VS Capcom in the West and have it be a moderate success, why not Darkstalkers next? If they push it, it could be huge.

To quote Ono:

“If I was given the resources and the permission to do so, I would love to make a new Darkstalkers more than anything,” Ono said.

He went on to say ‘Because of the unique art style and transformations of characters the game would most likely need its own engine, but the art style would most likely mimic the visual style of Street Fighter IV.’, says Kotaku.

His next project hasn’t been officially announced, but Ono is just wrapping up his work as the producer of Super Street Fighter IV, due out on April 27 in North America for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Darkstalkers new game some new stuff with gory blood and violence and the history look and some music with techno and metal music

Darkstalker 4 is an amazing idea. The Darkstalker series has been picking up some attention even though it was released all the way in 1997. I think the demand would be way high if Kotaku slinged out shocking news for a Darkstalker 4.

Also, I believe more people would know more about the darkstalker series now than in the 90′s now with Morrigan, Felicia, etc making the roster in the popular Capcom vs Marvel games.

Gargoyle- wishes to build the biggest army and become ruler of the dark realm or wants to find the voodoo priest/witch/sorcerer who turned him/her into this beast. get there old self back. RIVALS: voodoo priest, anakaris, demetri, pyron, hsein ko,
Psycho Killer-  wants to be the best of the best killers but is tired of killing humans so whats to go after the monsters to show that he/she is deadlier than they are.
Swamp creature- Can go in any direction but his RIVAL would be Rikuo (merman) who he hates
Boogie Man-  doesnt want to be feared so “it” enters the fight to prove they are nothing scary to be feared or wants to be feared by all of the dark realm. prove that he/she can be just as dangerous as the rest of the stalkers.
Evil Doll/Living Doll/ Puppet  - wants to be a real person but for what purpose is unknown. RIVALS: B.B.Hood, Talbain, Lilith, Anita, Huitzil.
Santa Claus-  wants to turn the dark realm into a happy place. RIVALS: boogie man, banshee, hsien-ko, bishamon, Lord raptor, demetri, pyron.
Possessed person/Shadow-  purpose unknown. can go in any direction.
Wizard/Witch/Warlock-  can go in any direction.
Sorcerer/Sorceress- can go in any direction.
Angels/Demons-  these characters are unique because there story is that they fell in love with each but it is against there realms for one to co=exist together. They would be the first duo characters that you play as. They are fighting to keep there love together.
ShapeShifter -  wants to be normal as well as to try to control his/her powers if they must stay that way.
Blob character-   can go in any direction. Story would be that it is always hungry and wants an unlimited source of food.
Mad Scientist-   can go in any direction. Has a major problem with Victor. this character would be inside a creation or part of it. this character can also be made to use gadgets and chemistry stuff.
Executioner–   can go in any direction.
Cult Leader/Priest– this character is a bad guy. they want to be a god and uses disciples to attack people. RIVALS: demetri, morrigan, jedah, pyron
Banshee–can go in any direction. this is a female character. RIVALS: Bishamon and Hsien=ko.
Golem–can go in any direction. would like this character to be a body guard to another character. RIVALS: Victor, Huitzil, Anakaris.
Troll/Elf/Gremlin-    can go in any direction. RIVALS: Lord Raptor, B.B. Hood, Lilith, Donovan, Anita.
Fairie/Pixie— can go in any directions. RIVALS: Lilith, Q-Bee, B.B. Hood., Pyron, Anakaris
Minotaur/Centaur – can go in any direction.
Invisble Man– this character is a burglar that stole a potion from the mad scientist. he wants to be normal but he needs the blood of the stalkers in order to do that.
Voo-Doo Priest—- this character can go in many awesome directions. Ill let you decide.
Anita and Donovan– these two characters should continue after Donovan’s ending in the previous games.
Death– His story can be based on finally killing all the immortals that he feels is cheating death/life. dont know why he wasnt thought of from the beginning of the series.
Leprachaun– can go in any direction.
Plant creature– can go in any direction.
The Huntchback of Notre Dame/ Quazimoto— can go in any direction.
Phantom of the Opera–   wants to win back the love that a mysterious man has taken away from him. Demetri would be is Main rival.
ALL THESE MONSTERS CAN HAVE ANY STORY BACKGROUND BUT I JUST THOUGHT ID GIVE A LITTLE SOMETHING TO WORK WITH. I AM A MAJOR FAN OF THIS SERIES AND IT DESERVES TO BE BROUGHT BACK PROPERLY. STREET FIGHTER 4 SUX BUT THIS SERIES WAS THE UNDERDOG CLASSIC BEST. IF IT WASNT, SOME OF THESE CHARACTERS WOULD NOT BE FEATURED IN OTHER GAMES.

yo that list is awesome and those monsters would sound like a great idea.

i think they should add Medusa but you covered alot and they would fit great into the story.

I have some ideas for Darkstalkers 4 that I would love to share :

A gorgon ( ex: Medusa ) . You know, a hot looking lady with snakes for hair

A hunchback ( like Quasimodo or Igor ) .

A catman ( basically a male version of Felicia ) .

A vampire girl ( she’d be to Demitri what Lilith is to Morrigan ) .
