Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands release date is May 18, 2010
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will be released this May 18, 2010 to coincide with the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time film; and will be out on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP and PC.
The Forgotten Sands will shed new light on the original Sands of Time trilogy by showcasing what happened in between Sands of Time and it’s sequel, The Warrior Within, that made the Prince change from light-hearted to battle-hardened.
Likewise, the game graphically and tone-wise, set somewhere in the middle between the two games listed above, while also maintaining it’s own style and look, which is also closer in line with the upcoming film.
The rewinding time mechanic even returns exactly as it was in Sands of Time, where you can rewind your actions to save yourself from death, but each rewind will cost a blue orb displayed on the top of the screen. Combat is also a focus of this game with massive battles between upwards of 50 foes at once.
Ubisoft also announced that the Wii game will be completely different than the others and is being built from the ground up by Ubisoft Quebec City. This version will “utilize the full graphical capabilities of the Wii”, will use unique controls, and will last about 15 hours.
