This guide shows the BioShock 2 Audio Tape locations of the hidden Audio Diaries you can collect around Rapture.

These Audio Tapes are one of the main essential narrative devices used in Bioshock 2 to convey the background and exposition of the storyline. The tapes come in the form of notes to themselves or to others by the residents of Rapture.

There are 128 Audio Tapes in all to collect in Bioshock 2. The “Rapture Historian” (40 Gamerscore Points or Silver Trophy) Achievement unlocks when you find 100 audio diaries.

Audio Tape Collecting Tip

A key tip to note is that the Audio Tapes must be collected once you come upon them. Because once you have left the area where the Audio Tape is located, you generally will not be able to go back to collect it. So if you missed one, there is no way to collect it again. Thus make sure you check all the rooms thoroughly, search all the boxes, etc. to try and find the Audio Tape. Most of them are not difficult to find. It’s also worth noting that once you beat the game, your collection will not carry over to a new game, you will have to start all over collecting them from scratch.

Audio Tape Locations #1-6 – Adonis Luxury Resort

Tape #1 – Look for a broken pillar. You’ll find it sitting there.

Tape #2 – Next to the door inside a locked room.

Tape #3 – There is a bench with a book leaning vertically against the wall, on top of said bench. You’ll find the third Tape Recorder on this bench.

Tape #4 – This tape is also sitting on a bench. However this is a nicer, more elaborate bench under a large hanging poster on the adjacent wall.

Tape #5 – You’ll come across an open suitcase with a teddy bear. Next to it is this fifth Tape Recorder.

Tape #6 – You’ll find this tape recorder on a counter by a set of stairs.

Audio Tape Locations #7-14 – The Atlantic Express

Tape #7 – Sitting on top of a work bench.

Tape #8 – On the table worktop of a designer.

Tape #9 – Sitting on the floor by a mattress.

Tape #10 – Behind the fan in the Runoff Maintenance Tunnel. You’ll need to use Telekinesis to get it.

Tape #11 – Sitting next to a large poster of a girl, you’ll find the tape recorder inside the suitcase next to the poster.

Tape #12 – Sitting atop a filing cabinet.

Tape #13 – Sitting on a wooden bench.

Tape #14 – Next to a pipe where a splicer set a pipe in the gears? (this one is questionable)

Audio Tape Locations #15-34 – Ryan Amusements

Tape #15 – Next to some candles on the shrine, where the wall says: “She is our Salvation”

Tape #16 – The first “Power to the People” contains this Tape Recorder.

Tape #17 – Leaning against a cabinet labeled “Supplies”.

Tape #18 – Under a bench in the station.

Tape #19 – Next to a poster of a girl, also decorated with candles (a shrine).

Tape #20 – Inside a crate of toys, next to a bookshelf that’s next to a safe.

Tape #21 – You’ll find a box labeled “Stephenson Stout” with this Tape Recorder inside.

Tape #22 – You’ll find this recorder outside the El Dorado Lounge, there’ll be a purple decorative bow.

Tape #23 – You’ll find this one inside a suitcase next to a small bottle.

Tape #24 – This one is simply sitting on a desk.

Tape #25 – You’ll see this on top of some wooden boxes.

Tape #26 – In the middle of a room on the floor. Can’t miss it.

Tape #27 – Sitting atop a workbench.

Tape #28 – The “Power to the People” 2 holds this one.

Tape #29 – Leaning against the wall by a wooden pallet (the ones you warehouse workers move with a “Pallet Jack”).

Tape #30 – There will be a file cabinet that has fallen over. This is sticking out from one of the drawers.

Tape #31 – Melt some ice to find this one.

Tape #32 – You’ll see some boxes, on top is a frying pan with candles set on the pan. Leaning against the boxes is this Tape Recorder.

Tape #33 – There will be a wooden bookcase with a teddy bear on it. And this Tape Recorder.

Tape #34 – There will be a display of a family. Inside to the right and up the hand, you’ll see a body with some candles and this Tape Recorder? (might not be accurate).

Audio Tape Locations #35-54 – Pauper’s Drop

Tape #35 – After you pass the camera on the display pathway, you’ll see a wooden pallet next to a desk. Smash it to find this Tape Recorder? (might not be accurate).

Tape #36 – On top of a small dresser/ with several drawers.

Tape #37 – Opposite a safe after you pass a vending machine and blue paper down a long hallway.

Tape #38 – You’ll find this tape on the roof of the flower shop, near the Fishbowl Diner.

Tape #39 – Atop a wooden box, next to some lit candles.

Tape #40 – Next to the looked door to the Clinic.

Tape #41 – Inside a booth on a desk next to the glass.

Tape #42 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder inside of the Clinic that is locked. The code is 0047, go inside and you’ll find this Tape (search the dead guy)

Tape #43 – Leaning up against some blue sheet in the midst of lit candles and a wall of small photographs.

Tape #44 – Sitting on top of a desk.

Tape #45 – Power to the People 3 holds this Tape Recorder.

Tape #46 – On the bar near the “Women’s Club” sign.

Tape #47 – In the corner of a room on a cube crate.

Tape #48 – Beside a chair on the floor.

Tape #49 – Power to the People 4 holds this Tape Recorder.

Tape #50 -Sitting on top of a women’s dresser with a cracked mirror.

Tape #51 – Atop a crate (there is a pipe above the Tape Recorder).

Tape #52 – Located on the bottom part of a display cabinet.

Tape #53 – Beside where the wooden floor is broken, you’ll find this Tape Recorder next to a crate.

Tape #54 – Power to the People 5 holds this Tape Recorder.

Tape #55 – Next to the Butterfly Displays in a purple room you’ll find this Tape Recorder on a table.

Tape #56 – Beside a wheelchair, leaning against a metal crate.

Tape #57 – In a pink-colored room, you’ll find this Tape Recorder under the bed with a blue sheet, in the corner.

Tape #58 – Next to a disfigured Teddy Bear on a bed.

Tape #59 – In a square-tiled room, you’ll see this Tape Recorder leaning against a cabinet.

Tape #60 – Kill the Brute Splicer, he has the Tape Recorder.

Audio Tape Locations (level 5) – Siren Alley

Tape #61 – Inside the basement of the Green Groceries store.

Tape #62 – On the wall, next to a large painting.

Tape #63 – Beside the tonic on a counter.

Tape #64 – In a bathroom on the floor near a toilet.

Tape #65 – On a square-shaped table with metal sides.

Tape #66 – Power to the People 6 (Open the door and drop through a floor hole).

Tape #67 – On a checker-tiled floor, leaning against the square-tiled wall.

Tape #68 – Leaning against a box that has lit candles on top of it.

Tape #69 – On a desk next to a typewriter.

Tape #70 – In a red-lit corner on a table next to an old-fashioned record player.

Tape #71 – Sitting on a desk next to a bottle.

Tape #72 – Located on the body of Daniel Wales.

Tape #73 – Inside a securely locked room. The code is 1919, you’ll find it inside on a table.

Tape #74 – Right outside of the Green Groceries store entrance, you’ll find this Tape Recorder on some wood.

Tape #75 – Inside of a low trolley next to a water heater.

Tape #76 – On top of a stack of wood that is neaxt to a plant.

Tape #77 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder atop a large box of wood, next to a typewriter.

Tape #78 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder next to a box with lit candles that is underneath a painting that features blue butterfiles and a strand of DNA in the picture.

Tape #79 – You’ll see three sets of candles, two on either side of a longer stretch in the middle, with this Tape Recorder appearing underneath the table.

Tape #80 – Power to the People 7 holds this Tape Recorder

Tape #81 – You’ll find this inside the middle drawer of a filing cabinet.

Tape #82 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder inside the makeshift church on the white. holy table.

Audio Tape Locations (level 6) – Dionysus Park

Tape #83 – You’ll see two pointing statues, with a trashcan in front. This Tape Recorder is under said trashcan.

Tape #84 – In the cinema hallway which leads you down to the projection room.

Tape #85 – Next to some ruined shelves, you’ll find this Tape Recorder on the ground leavning against them.

Tape #86 – Laying near a cube crate on the dirt floor.

Tape #87 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder laying on the broken foot of a yellow-colored statue.

Tape #88 – Located inside a carosel, leaning against the wall of it.

Tape #89 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder in the water against a wall.

Tape #90 – Power to the People 8 holds this Tape Recorder.

Tape #91 – Lying atop a filing cabinet.

Tape #92 – You’ll see a Grand Piano, with this Tape Player laying on top of the musical instrument.

Tape #93 – Simply lying on the icy ground.

Tape #94 – You’ll find some boxest that are stacked onto a shelf that is partially covered. This Tape Recorder will be hanging out.

Tape #95 – This Tape Recorder is located inside a locked door. The password is 1080. Inside you’ll find a Tape Recorder and Power to the People 9.

Tape #96 – You’ll find this on the edge of the balcony.

Tape #97 – Next to some film reels in the projection room is this Tape Recorder.

Tape #98 – You’ll find an office inside the train station that is unlocked as part of the story. This Tape Recorder is inside that room, on the ground.

Audio Tape Locations (level 7) – Fontaine Futuristics

Tape #99 – Resting against a crate that has a banner reading “Seized”.

Tape #100 – Inside an opening in the wall next to a sign with the names of the 1st floor, 2nd floor, etc.

Tape #101 – Lying on the ground next to a teddy bear and a vent that protrudes from the wall.

Tape #102 – Atop a filing cabinet that is floating in the water.

Tape #103 – Inside an enclosed room that is flooded, next to the tonic.

Tape #104 – Inside of a locked door beside a crate. The code for the lock is 5254.

Tape #105 – Power to the People 10 holds this Tape Recorder.

Tape #106 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder on a small table next to a suit.

Tape #107 – You’ll find this next to the Garden Machine for the Gatherers.

Tape #108 – Leaning against the wall under the Beaker Switches.

Tape #109 – Simply laying on the control panel.

Tape #110 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder laying on the ground against the wall beside a vent that protrudes from the wall.

Tape #111 – Power to the People 11 holds this one.

Tape #112 – Leaning against the wall on the floor next to some seaweed.

Tape #113 – Inside of the office at the Train Station that is unlocked as part of the story.

Audio Tape Locations (level – Persephone

Tape #114 – Power to the People 12 contains this Tape Recorder.

Tape $115 – Leaning against a vent.

Tape #116 – Held by a large figurine next to a desk.

Tape #117 – Located on top of a toy submarine

Tape #118 – You’ll find this on top of a table next to a part of the Big Sister.

Tape #119 – Located on the dead body of a prisoner in Block B.

Tape #120 – In Prison Block A inside a cell with a hole in the wall.

Tape #121 – Inside the last room (on the left side) in Infirmary Ward A

Tape #122 – You’ll find this one on a grey-colored desk.

Tape #123 – Beside a dead body ontop of a table.

Tape #124 – Next to a red pipe that is shooting out a flame of fire.

Tape #125 – Located on a bed in a padded cell.

Tape #126 – Inside a toilet bowl in a cell.

Tape #127 – Power to the People 13 contains this audio. The door will be locked to get in so othe code is 2673.

Tape #128 – Located on a desk next to a circular window.

Tape #129 – Power to the People 14 contains this Tape Recorder.

Tape #130 – You’ll find this tape recorder on a desk.

Tape #131 – Look on the corpse of a prisoner in a striped suit that is sitting down.

Tape #132 – Next to a red chair, on top of a gas stove.

Tape #133 – Atop a cute box.

Tape #134 – This Tape Recorder is located on a shelf case on the bottom shelf.

Tape #135 – You’ll find it on some drawers.

Tape #136 – On top of a work surface.

Tape #137 – You’ll find this Tape Recorder in a medical sink.
