Bayonetta sells over 1 million copies worldwide
Sega has announced that Bayonetta has sold over 1.1 million copies worldwide on the two platforms the game is available on: Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Although the game was a pretty big hit for the company and developer Platinum Games, it wasn’t enough to top their biggest seller . . . The family-friendly, casually-focused, Wii-exclusive fusion of worlds: Mario & Sonic At the Olympic Winter Games which comes out on top with over 5 million copies sold.

Here is the list of the top 4 selling games for Sega for the past three quarters.

1. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Wii, DS) – 5,670,000 units
2. Bayonetta (PS3, 360) – 1,100,000 units
3. Football Manager 2010 (PSP, PC) – 740,000 units
4. Phantasy Star Portable 2 (PSP) – 540,000 units

“In the home video game software industry, the demand was generally weak in the U.S. and European markets due to the headwind like sluggish personal consumption,” stated SEGA. “Further penetration of the current generation of game platforms with price revision and market revitalization in accordance therewith are expected in the future.”
