Pokemon Ranger 3: Tracks of Light has been announced for Nintendo DS as revealed in Famitsu magazine, with a Japanese release of March 6, 2010.

Within the issue were the first details on this upcoming title, which is a sequel to Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. A release outside of Japan wasn’t announced, but you can be sure that it will be coming sometime soon after.

First details on Pokemon Ranger 3:

* Players will be able to download a special Deoxys mission on launch day. This mission puts them on a quest to obtain the DNA of Deoxys. You will then have the ability to transfer this info to Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver in order to get the Pokemon (I assume).
* The game takes place in the Oblivia region, a series of islands filled with ruins.
* A “Pokemon gang” called the “Pokemon-nappers” appear on the island lead by “Red Eye”.
* “Ukulele Pichu” will be your partner in the quest.
* There is a secret to the Deoxys that you can obtain from the downloaded mission.
* With the Capture Styler you can call specific Pokemon to help you by drawing specific designs called “Ranger Signs”.
* If your Assist Pokemon is attacked by a wild Pokemon, it will run away.
* When assisted by Raikou, Entei or Suicune you will ride them like a horse, and thus can use this ability to get passed certain obstacles.
* In the four-player mode, you can draw lines together with your friends to capture Pokemon.
* A demo of Pokemon Ranger 3: Tracks of Light will debut in Japan on January 29th.
