Hello Kitty Online, a kid-friendly MMO from Sanrio Digital and Aeria Games, is currently in open beta and will be free to play when it launches later this year (it is already available in some territories like Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines).
Like most MMO’s, in the game players can partake in various quests to earn rewards and improve their skill set while interacting with their favorite Hello Kitty characters. With experience earned, you’ll be able to access new challenges. Players will also be able to learn certain skills like cooking, fight off monsters in enemy zones, and play puzzles and mini-games, either by yourself or with a group of friends.
In addition to the standard MMO-fare, players will also be able to pursue more family-friendly attractions, such as cooperating to build their “dream house”, which can be decorated and arranged with furniture that players make themselves. They can also own, train and customize pets in addition to customizing (or “dressing”) their avatars.
And in addition to normal MMO stuff like mining ore, players can mine fruit from trees! They can also farm, which allows you to plant, grow and harvest crops. Players can even become a tailor.
Teaming up with your friends will allow players to earn Sanrio Loyalty Points which they can spend on customizing their character with icons for Gathering, Planting, Wood Cutting, Mining, Forging, Carpentry, Cooking and Tailoring.
In addition, players can blog, social network and build profiles from within the game.
