FINAL Fantasy? More like FOREVER Fantasy!
According to Akitoshi Kawazu of Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix, the house-that-Cloud-built wants the long-running role-playing series to last . . . . for all eternity!
But can you blame them when a series is this popular and makes such a huge amount of money? OF COURSE NOT!
In an interview with German site GameZone, Kawazu was asked if we’ll ever see a FINAL Final Fantasy. His reply?
“I would of course be delighted if Final Fantasy will last forever. When I die, it would be an honor if standing on my tombstone, “He was involved in the FIRST Final Fantasy!” That would be fantastic – literally!”
Gotta give the man props for that.
Personally I’ve been a fan of nearly every single entry in the core Final Fantasy series, so I’ll be just as delighted if it continues until I’m old and gray with great grandchildren who are playing Final Fantasy 51.
