Infinite Space 2, a sequel to the upcoming DS-exclusive, could be in the plans according to a new interview with the developer and producer of the project.
If you haven’t heard of it, Infinite Space is an upcoming DS-exclusive RPG developed by “Nude Maker” and produced by Platinum Games, who just finished up Bayonetta.
In the game, players will build their own customizable spaceships using over 200 ship designs and pieces, as well as crafting their crew members, all within a role-playing quest to save the universe (naturally). The game is inspired by the works of science fiction authors like Arthur C. Clarke and Greg Egan.
In the new interview with GameSpot, Nude Maker’s Hifumi Kuono and former Clover Studio CEO and Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba, were asked about a possible Infinite Space sequel and their franchise plans for their new DS IP.
To quote:
Question: Is there scope for an Infinite Space sequel or perhaps a series?
Answer: If we had a chance we would love to make a sequel. There is no meaning to making original titles if we don’t make sequels/series from what we learned in developing the new IP. However, this is only after we receive good feedback from the market. Above all, Sega is the IP holder so it’s up to them.
