In this Perfect Dark character’s list, we take a look at the main and side characters in the beloved Nintendo 64 classic shooter, which will be re-released for Xbox Live Arcade in early 2010.

The Xbox 360 port will include updated HD visuals in 1080p, a solid and improved frame-rate of 60 frames-per-second from the sluggish N64 original, four-player local multiplayer, online multiplayer play, all-new Achievements to earn and online leaderboards. The game is being developed by 4J Studios, who also developed the Xbox Live Arcade ports of Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

Here is a list of the characters in the game:

JOANNA DARK
Highly trained but inexperienced. Reactions superb. Proficient with a variety of weapons. Very competent all-round agent. Highest recorded training scores resulted in the creation of a new class of training grade. The embodiment of the Carrington Institute’s ideal agent, hence the callsign ‘Perfect Dark’.

ELVIS AND MAIANS
Elite Maian Trooper assigned to a high-ranking Maian diplomat. He is a terraphile, finding enjoyment in all aspects of Earthly life. Has been in Maian Special Forces for eight Maian years (roughly a century), and has worked on Earth with the Carrington Institute many times since its inception.

SKEDARS
Skedar Troopers are reptile-like extraterrestrials who can disguise themselves as humans. These sinister aliens have been tied to dataDyne. The Skedar and Maian races are in the middle of an interstellar war.

JONATHAN DARK
Carrington Institute’s most experienced undercover agent. Highly accurate with his chosen weapon. Perfectly suited to undercover missions; less suited to out-and-out combat. Before Joanna Dark’s activation as a CI Agent he held the honour of the highest recorded training scores

DANIEL CARRINGTON
Intelligent patriarchal scientist/entrepreneur and founder of the Carrington Institute which distributes new technologies into the public domain. Plans all missions carried out by his agents, and runs each operation direct from a link in his office. Strange taste in clothes.

CASSANDRA DE VRIES
The head of dataDyne Corp. Addicted to power, dislikes being anybody’s underling. Hates it when she loses the initiative. Is prepared to do extremely unscrupulous things in order to get ahead of her competition, to whit Daniel Carrington, whom she loathes.

TRENT EASTON
Ambitious and unscrupulous head of the NSA, he is nevertheless a career bureaucrat bound by procedure. Only severe personal threat would induce him to use violence to get his way. He is a close acquaintance of Cassandra De Vries; unsurprisingly, most of his policies have been beneficial to dataDyne Corp.

MR. BLONDE
As far as government records are concerned, this individual does not exist. He is the third member of the possible conspiracy that includes Cassandra De Vries and Trent Easton, though his place in the group dynamic is unclear; it is supposed that De Vries is the nominal leader. Assumed dangerous.

DR. CAROLL
A sapient computer AI that helps you for some of your missions in the game, much like Halo’s Guilty Spark, but done much earlier.

PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
The American president even gets involved in Joanna’s mission at one point during her adventure. Is he aligned with the Carrington Institute or not?
