DRAGON AGE ORIGINS TIPS & SECRETS

1. Whenever you see Merchants, always buy a backpack from them. The reason is because each time you buy one, you will acquire more items that allow you to better equip your characters.

2. Runes that are put into weapons are not lost! So if you want to move your runes around, be sure to just remove them from a weapon and then insert them into another. This way you will not lose them.

3. If you can complete the Circle of Mages Tower, you will get a reward of 2 points per attribute minimum. So you should do this quest first if you plan on only focusing on a few attributes.

4. Whenever you see a Specialization book at a merchant, be sure to first save your game. Then buy the book. Now reload your game and the specialization will be unlocked.

5. Players who are playing as Tanks should focus on Physical Resistance (60 max) when enchanting. Meanwhile, those who are focusing on damage should focus on Electric/Ice/Fire and Paralyzing runes.

6. Keep these tips in mind when getting new party members. The lower you get a member, the lower their level will be but the more you can customize them. Allistair will join your party at level 2 or level 3 with only 4 abilities selected. Oghren meanwhile can be acquired at a very late stage in the game which will leave you with no room to select another path besides Melee.

7. When you are a Merchant, you should purchase books in this order: Abilities, Attributes, Skills.

8. There is a bug in the PC version of the game that allows you to redistribute Attribute Points. This is done by putting the points into an Attribute, then hitting Reset. Now click on the left arrow next to the Attribute that you just put points into. You can do this as often as you want but you can only redistribute one particular attribute per level up.

9. Keep in mind that anything you sell to your Camp Vendor will remain on him for eternity! So if you are running out of space in your inventory, then simply sell your items to him to lighten your load.

How to Unlock All the Locked Chests
In order to unlock all of the locked chests in the game, you will need to be a Rogue. For example: Leliana is one of the best characters to use. Focus on the Lockpicking skill when you level up. There are four ranks within it that require you to increase your Cunning. And the highest gives you access to every locked chest in the game.

Tactics 1 “First Emissary”
This video shows you strategy on how to lure an enemy from their base and what benefits you get for pulling it off.

Tactics 2 “First Orge”
Throw every debuff skills you have at the boss and that will lead this clip result. This clip is 100% normal mode. Telekinetic Weapons + Crippling Shot + Shattering Shot is the reason why this battle end very quick. Cone of cold is the one of important key to make my team less harm.

Tactics 3 “Closing the Veil”
This is normal mode player (at Lv 8). Use ice magic to stop enemys , save stamina and mana to fight through the boss.

Tactics 4 “Defend Village”
This clip is normal mode , play at 150% speed. Mind Blast is useful with this chaos battle. Sorry for a lot of pause , but It really need to dominate the battle.

Tactics 5 “Revenant at Castle”
Lure skeleton archers first, then open the gate for backup and crush revenant.

DRAGON AGE ORIGINS UNLOCKABLE SPECIALIZATION SKILLS LIST

SHAPESHIFTER
Easily the weakest of all the Specializations in the game. This is because the Shapeshifter loses access to all his magic spells when transformed into a creature.

Spider Shape – The Spider gets a bonus to their nature resistance. You also gain Web (which paralyzes) and Poison Spit (which causes damage to enemies over time). Master Shapeshifter allows you to Overwhelm enemies, which lets you tackle them to the floor.

Bear Shape – The Bear earns increases to Armor as well as the Slam ability (Knockdown) and the Rage ability, which increases your melee damage). Master Shapeshifter gives you the Overwhem ability described above.

Flying Swarm – You gain an area damage aura around you, which hurts enemies more the closer they get to you. You also are allowed to directly attack casters and drain their mana in lieu of their health. Other benefits include immunity to missiles due to a higher evasion which also makes you harder to hit physically, but a detriment is being hugely susceptible to fire. Master Shapeshifter gives you the ability to drain health while you attack.

Master Shapeshifter – Gives you a large increase to all your attributes for all forms. You also gain new abilities.

SPIRIT HEALER SPECIALIZATION
The Spirit Healer gives you a plethora of ways to heal your group and Tank. Almost essential on the more difficult levels, especially if you lack a mage in your group.

Group Heal – As is self-explanatory, this will heal your entire group significantly. And, also obviously, you will need this to keep your group alive in difficult situations, especially if you are low on healing potions.

Revival – Another self-explanatory one, it will revive a dead player. Vital if someone goes down.

Lifeward – This move is extremely useful to keep active on the Tank. It will prevent you from being required to use more heals.

Cleansing Aura – Gives an aura with significant mana drain. Great if you have other melees in the group.

BLOOD MAGE SPECIALIZATION
These spells all trade hit points for mana, which makes them very unique and equally devastating if you use them right.

Blood Magic – For Blood Magic, you use your HP to spellcast. This can be very powerful if you plan ahead, but requires a significant HP pool in replace of mana.

Blood Sacrifice – This spell may seem confusing at first, since it kills a teammate to heal yourself, but use it on a Ranger pet or the like and it can work wonders!

Blood Wound – This allows you to give huge damage to any enemy with “blood”, which pretty much applies to everyone but golem’s. Great Taunt equivalent. Also perfect for a Tank.

Blood Control – Best when possessing an Emissary, this allows you to make anything with blood the pet of the Mage. Also deals them significant amounts of damage.

ARCANE WARRIOR SPECIALIZATION
This is the core specialization for a Mage Tank. You’ll be able to equip whatever you want to equip and can be almost completely immune to damage.

Combat Magic – This allows you to equip any equipment item by swapping the strength requirement for magic. This also gives you a much higher attack statistic and allows you to use spellpower for damage. Which is very powerful if you’re magic stat is high.

Aura of Might – Simply greatly improves your Combat Magic.

Shimmering Shield – This spell is useful but costs a ton of mana to keep it up. It allows you to block damage and increases resistance for Resistance and Armor. If you are very good at managing mana then this can be very useful.

Fade Shroud – This gives you much better mana regen and greatly increases your evasion rate for physical attacks.
