Zii, Cii, Bii, Oii and Yii trademarked by Nintendo as potential Wii follow-up names
Nintendo has gone on a Wii-spelling related trademark buying spree by trademarking a bunch of letters with the two “ii” letters following them.
The “words” trademarked by Nintendo include: Zii, Cii, Bii, Oii and Yii.
So what is Nintendo’s plan with these trademarks? Is the Cii an upcoming camera-based Wii system to compete with the Project NATAL Xbox 360 camera?
Obviously there is no way to know, but it’s more likely that Nintendo is simply trying to cover their tracks and keep other companies from releasing Wii-like products with a Wii-like name.
