Final Fantasy XIII main story takes 50-60 hours to finish

Final Fantasy XIII will have a main quest of over 50 hours according to director Motomu Toriyama who spoke with Japanese magazine Famitsu about the length of their upcoming RPG masterpiece for PS3 and Xbox 360. Which releases in Japan next week and in America & Europe in March 2010.

When asked about the length of the game, Toriyama is quoted as replying,

“For Final Fantasy XIII, the size of the entire game is considerable. Just running through the main story takes experienced players over 50 hours. For the first time, I think it’s possible to play through in full in about 60 hours or so.” — Via Kotaku

I don’t know about you, but it took me over 100 hours to beat each of the previous modern Final Fantasy games, including Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X and both Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy XII (which I didn’t beat but still put over 100 hours into).

So I’m guessing maybe FFXIII will take me in the league of 200 hours?

Update: Catch the entire story in our Final Fantasy XIII walkthrough.

Haha, I’m with you! It took me over 100 hours to finish previous FF titles. FF12 took me the longest! But I love a long game. . especially since I never beat them (I end up starting over after I get near the end . . .I’m weird. . . .)

I have played Final Fantasy XIII I think 30 hours is enough to finish it, because I played many times and covered many stages of that.

Baten Kaitos beats out your measly 50 – 60 hours. :P
