After that, just finish check out to get your download link and serial number. Then give the web-site and publisher your thanks. But hurry, freedom only lasts until November 30th, 2009. Update: Apparently the increase in interest caused the developer to cancel the discount. It’s still cheap, but not free.

Originally released in 2005, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse made news because it was a creative action game from the same minds that originally worked on Halo.

In Stubbs, you can:

* Play as a Zombie and give those unpleasant, violent humans a piece of your mind…by eating theirs.
* Destroy an entire city built with Bungie’s Halo Engine.
* Use Zombie Strength to smash down doors and maul a wide variety of citizens and armed defenders.
* Spread Zombie Love by eating the brains of your enemies and adding them to your own personal zombie horde.
* Possess unsuspecting humans and use their weapons against their friends.
* Use Your Body as a Weapon in the deadliest offense ever: explosive gut grenades, zombie sputum, a severed hand that can crawl through tight spaces.
* And . . . possess the living, a head that doubles as an unholy bowling ball, and flatulence beyond the ken of mortal men.

Here’s a classic commercial for the game:

Need to update this.

Turns out it’s not free. The original price is $19.99, and using the promo code ASPYRTHANKS subtracts $15 leaving the end price at $4.99.

Still not a bad deal, and still cheaper than Steam’s $9.99 price.

Thanks Lunarskye, I’ve updated the article to reflect the changes. Originally it really was for free after entering the code. I can’t believe the shop cheaped out and raised the price back to normal after blogs starting picking up on it and sending more people their way.

Thanks for pointing that out Lunarskye. Really sucks that they did that. $5 is still a great price but I DEFINITELY would’ve picked it up for free. Now I’ll have to think about it . . . :P

What a godamn rip off! Absolutely criminal that it is not free.

Absolutely criminal = paid $4.99 for it on the 26th…still waiting for the download link to appear just like everyone else that either got it for free or paid for it. Gameagent is awful. They reply to any question about it with the same “click on the download button to download” response. Everyone is getting the same “Processing serial number or unlock code” message.
