Google shows Chrome OS to the public. 7 seconds startup time!
The Google Chrome Operating System has been fully unveiled by Google in its somewhat early state, and you can see it in action in the videos below.
Google is promising a lot of very cool features with Chrome, the best of which is speed . . . Right now the startup time is a quick 7 seconds!
In the videos below you can see some of the apps that the Google Chrome OS will be able to run, as well as the user interface for the OS, which they have created to feel much like the Google Chrome browser (which is actually my browser of choice). With the thinking that almost everyone already knows how to use a browser.
They stress though that the UI is still early and could change significantly before it releases.
